The July altar is of course summery. We created it for our wedding ceremony and will keep it for the month.
It contains some of our favorite things including a small chicken egg! from one of our chickens. We also included a rooster to add to that summer spirit.
The red candle represents the passion of Litha and this hot passionate time of the year.
This altar is a nice reminder of the early summer season and when we stand by it and contemplate it, we can feel the wonder of summer.
As the summer progresses we may add items from the garden to celebrate and keep in mind the bounty of Earth during the summer months.
Remember, the basic idea for the monthly altar is to use it to keep in mind the time of year and the things there are to celebrate that month. This reminds us to appreciate the things that we have, and the things that exist around us.
