The July altar is of course summery. We created it for our wedding ceremony and will keep it for the month.
Beltane already! Meaning we are halfway to Summer! What a great time of the year. Our May alter will reflect some of the warmth and color of the current time of year.
Each month we modify our alter. Here is April’s items.
For our March altar we will have several Ostara type items. The usual fertility objects, a green candle from last year, and a new pink candle.
The change from January to February is subtle, but noticeable, at least here in New England. The weather outside isn’t any darned better, but the days are getting longer and we know that we’re moving closer to Spring. Yule seems a long time ago, but Spring is still a long way away.
This is the energetic feel of Imbolc, the nadir of the wheel of the year–the depth of winter, where we stoke the fires and keep our hope for the future warm.
The purpose of a monthly altar is to connect you to the energies of the season and help you make your spiritual life more tangible. Having an altar is a way to remind yourself of who and where you are. Having something visible, in front of you, make it easier to stop and reflect.
